What is going on in ... ?

The lockdowns and closed borders of the last few years have made the rest of the world feel particularly far away from Melbourne. Over the next month weeks, MFU will platform scholars and activists with deep connections to other parts of the world to talk to us about the dramatic changes taking place on the ground and outside the news cycle. From grinding wars and governments being overthrown to rising right-wing politics and radical election results, each session in this series will look at a what is going on in a different country, from Afghanistan to Sudan. Together, the talks in this series will help us better understand how local crises are connected to each other in a world where tensions everywhere seem to be on the rise.
